Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly convened a meeting to discuss preparations for the gasoline-to-gas vehicle conversion program, which will take effect on January 1, 2025.

The program aims to convert 1.5 million gasoline-powered vehicles to compressed natural gas (CNG) to reduce Egypt's dependence on petroleum products, lower carbon emissions, and reduce fuel costs. This is expected to reduce Egypt's annual carbon dioxide emissions by 1.5 million tons. Furthermore, Egypt has set a three-year plan to convert 220,000 vehicles to natural gas, with 50,000 planned for that year, starting in the 2025/2026 fiscal year.
