CNG vehicle usage and maintenance

Complete Analysis of the Use and Maintenance of CNGLPG Vehicles in Peru.png

Precautions for use:

Starting and fuel conversion: The vehicle is started with gasoline every time. In emergency situations, long press and hold the switch for at least 3 seconds, and the CNG status indicator light will turn on, forcing the switch to start using CNG. After starting with gasoline fuel each time, if all components of the CNG system are working properly, and the engine water temperature is above 60 ° C and the engine speed exceeds 1500 revolutions per minute, the system will automatically switch to natural gas fuel.

Gasoline usage frequency: To maintain the normal operation of the gasoline system, it is recommended to use gasoline continuously for more than 500 kilometers during each maintenance cycle (3 months/5000 kilometers).

Parking and leakage handling: Before the vehicle is stopped for a long time, it should try to exhaust the compressed natural gas in the gas cylinder as much as possible. If you smell a gas leak or the gas leak alarm shows an audible and visual alarm signal, you must immediately stop the car, turn off the power and the manual shut-off valve on the gas storage cylinder, wait for the compressed natural gas to evaporate, and after confirming safety, switch to gasoline to drive the car to the service center for maintenance.

Gas filling specification: When filling gas, the parking brake must be pulled up and the engine must be turned off. To use compressed natural gas that meets the requirements of automotive compressed natural gas standards, it is not allowed to add liquid natural gas (or LNG).

Maintenance points:

Gas storage cylinder inspection: CNG natural gas storage cylinders are pressure vessels and must undergo regular safety inspections mandated by the government. They must be inspected by qualified institutions at least once every 3 years. The fiberglass winding part of the gas cylinder is the most vulnerable part, and attention should be paid to protection to avoid scratches. Scratches with a depth of 1.25mm can cause the gas cylinder to be scrapped.

System component maintenance: It is strictly prohibited for users to discharge natural gas from the system or replace CNG system components on their own. If there is a gas leak while driving, the system will issue a dual warning through a buzzer and a leak indicator light. If the gas leak indicator light stays on, the cylinder valve should be manually closed immediately and the nearest authorized maintenance service center should be contacted for repair as soon as possible.

LPG vehicle use and maintenance

Precautions for use:

Starting and fuel conversion: When starting the engine with gasoline, place the conversion switch in the "gasoline" position. When starting with LPG, the gasoline in the oil circuit should be burned out first. First, place the conversion switch in the middle position, and then switch it to the "LPG" position after the gasoline in the oil circuit is burned out. Cars can perform fuel conversion during driving, but for safety reasons, it is best to perform the conversion while the engine is idling and parked.

Gasoline usage frequency: Use gasoline for at least 20 minutes every day to maintain the good condition of the gasoline engine. Otherwise, the lifespan of the valve seat will be reduced due to long-term lack of lubrication.

Gas quality requirements: Attention must be paid to the quality of LPG used in vehicles, with butadiene and sulfur contents of less than 0.5% and 0.015% (weight percentage), respectively.

Leakage treatment: If a LPG leak is found while driving, immediately pull over to the side of the road, turn off the power and the manual shut-off valve on the LPG storage cylinder combination valve, and then proceed with the treatment. When the fault is not resolved, the car should be driven on gasoline.

Maintenance points:

Maintenance of gas cylinders: Gas cylinders are high-pressure vessels with a rated pressure of 2.2MPa. They consist of a cylinder body, protective box, bracket, and combination valve, and are not allowed to be disassembled or replaced by themselves. The gas storage cylinder combination valve consists of an inlet one-way valve, an automatic limit filling valve, an outlet manual valve, an overcurrent valve, a safety valve, etc. It has functions such as limited filling, excessive flow control, and safe unloading.

System component maintenance: The high-pressure solenoid valve is the first component of the engine gas control system, and its lower filter needs to be cleaned regularly and replaced after a certain period of use. Vaporization regulator, also known as evaporation regulator, requires regular cleaning of its drainage holes to eliminate pollutants.
